PHM Group expands into property management business in Finland
PHM Group has agreed to acquire Finnish property management company Kiinteistötahkola. With the acquisition, PHM strengthens its position as a locally operating comprehensive property services partner in Finland.
Kiinteistötahkola is a family company founded in 1977, specialising in property management, property accounting, and rental and sales services for apartments and commercial premises. The company operates in 15 locations in Finland and employs approximately 600 experts.
PHM already has good experience in providing a wide range of property services to housing companies in other European countries. With Kiinteistötahkola, PHM is bringing to Finland an operating model in line with its strategy, where a housing company can obtain all key property services from a single source, such as property management, property maintenance, cleaning and, if necessary, also property technical services and minor renovations. Housing companies will still receive local service and are free to choose whether to purchase the services as a whole or individually.
“We strongly believe in implementing our strategy also in the Finnish market. PHM’s local units take comprehensive care of the housing companies’ real estate assets, and property management is one of the key areas in this. In accordance with our operating model, the local unit is always responsible for providing a solution that meets the customer’s needs,” says PHM Group’s CEO Ville Rantala.
Property management forms its own business area at PHM. Customer relationships and services will continue as normal, and the acquisition does not require changes to the housing companies’ current agreements.
“The new owner will provide us with additional resources to further develop our operations, as well as tools to accelerate the growth targets of the Kiinteistötahkola Group,” says Seppo Tahkola, CEO of Kiinteistötahkola.
The size and international experience of the PHM Group bring more operational security and continuity to housing companies, as well as investments in development.
“Through the acquisitions, we bring a large number of property services companies into PHM nationwide, and through this they will benefit from our service, system and sustainability development, among other things,” says Ville Rantala.
The acquisition requires approval from the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority, and the transaction is expected to be completed during the third quarter of the year.
