PHM Aski has been awarded the Nordic Swan Ecolabel
PHM Aski, PHM Finland’s housing association cleaning service, has been awarded the Nordic Swan Ecolabel. The Nordic region’s best-known ecolabel indicates that the cleaning service meets the strict quality and environmental requirements set for it. The service is provided by the PHM’s local companies across Finland.
Housing associations are increasingly expected to adopt responsible practices. In addition to energy efficiency and maintenance of properties, attention is also being paid to other outsourced services, such as cleaning. The Nordic Swan Ecolabel offers housing associations an independent way of identifying a service whose environmental impact and quality are assessed based on predefined criteria.
“For many people, the first things that come to mind when hearing about this eco-label are cleaning products and environmental issues. In the cleaning services sector, however, the label covers much more than that. The Nordic Swan Ecolabel criteria include amongst other things, the working methods used, quality management, staff competence and the continuous development of operations,” explains Riikka Koukkumäki, responsible for PHM Finland’s cleaning business.
The range of Nordic Swan Ecolabelled cleaning services available in the housing association market has been rather limited. The Nordic Swan Ecolabel awarded to PHM Aski significantly expands the range of eco-labelled cleaning services for housing associations in Finland.
“Choosing eco-labelled cleaning services is now easier than ever, as PHM Aski is making the Nordic Swan Ecolabel option available to housing associations in dozens of new locations. A large proportion of Finns are already making every day environmental choices with the help of the Nordic Swan Ecolabel, and housing associations can also make a difference through their choices. That is why the growth in the range of eco-labelled services is always great news,” says Riikka Holopainen, Managing Director of Ympäristömerkintä Suomi.
