Unce Oy is a service company built on hard work and customer focus
The story of Unce Oy, which joined PHM Group in 2022, begins in Kivenlahti, Espoo, on the production line of a former toothpaste factory. After moving from comprehensive school directly into working life, Sami Tienvieri worked long days in industry sector but soon discovered his true calling in property services. Side jobs as a caretaker led him to Vantaa and sparked the idea of starting his own business.
In 2002, Tienvieri founded Tmi Tienvieri to expand into apartment renovations. Demand grew rapidly and in 2008 Unce Oy was established. The company’s name comes from Tienvieri’s childhood nickname and its origin has been forgotten, but the name has remained ever since. The first employee was hired soon after founding, and later Tienvieri’s spouse joined the company making Unce Oy a family business.
It has always been important for us to do things well, quickly, and from the customer’s perspective. When you do what you promise – and a little more – that’s how trust is built. Unce has grown based on that principle from the very beginning.

Unce Oy’s growth has been steady and stable. Property maintenance, renovation work, and cleaning services formed a versatile offering that served both property managers and housing companies. Customer focus, quality of work, and fast response times were the company’s key differentiators from the start and the reason why word-of-mouth continuously brought in new customers.
By 2022, the company had grown significantly, and Tienvieri decided to realize a long-held plan to sell the business. The transaction with PHM Group was completed in April 2022, with Tienvieri continuing as the company’s Unit Director.
– As a company grows, so does responsibility. I noticed I was spending too much time on administration and no longer enough on what I do best: working with customers, supporting employees, and handling daily operations. PHM Group offered the opportunity to keep Unce’s own name and local identity while gaining strong support and better development opportunities. It felt like the right solution for both the company and our customers, says Sami Tienvieri.
